Ladies and Gentlemen, first, I am a relative newcomer to this board, but have read all of the threads to learn from what is obviously a good community of excellent carvers. I've not been carving too long, mainly whimseys (attached a picture of some of the work including works in progress-gave away most of what I did-oh, and that is a 4-inch ruler) and do it mostly while I am with my daughter. I made the snake from a stick I picked up and carved while we were walking around the neighborhood selling girl scout cookies. The arrow with two captive rings and ball in cage was done while walking around Williamsburg with her. The fox and giraffe were also made in Williamsburg. So, now she has asked me if could make her a horse head ornament....Obviously, I have worked freehand up to this point, so I have no patterns. Anybody got one they can share? |

Those patterns are not bad, but was hoping somebody might have one with a wreath or something on the horse's neck....maybe a horse with a santa hat...

Hi Farmall, Here's a cute Christmas horse pattern that I found last year. It's relatively easy, but looks great when it's painted. I didn't carve the bell though, bought a real one and attached it. Hope this helps, L. Close this template window when done printing |
