| | Re: 3ft Santa (Member Inspired) Thanks everyone for the information on the Triton power jaws. I am looking locally to see if any are available.
Colin I posted some pics and an update in the WIPs thread on theOct 3rd. I did regain some of my sight but not all. I have alot of trouble seeing some of the works posted because of contrast thats why I keep telling everyone to send me their projects so I can see them with my hands.

| | Re: 3ft Santa (Member Inspired) Thanks Charlotte I only wish I had you here to paint him for me. I agree barn red would be a great color but he is for my wife and I am doing him in a crazy quilt design to match her quilt and living room. I may have him finished for her by next Christmas.

| | Re: 3ft Santa (Member Inspired) Well here we go so far this is the longest I have ever spent on a carving and I still have to paint it. In fact this carving has taken me probably twice as long as any other carving. Here is carving with all the detail put in and I have taken your advice and burned the lines in for the pattern. That took forever I may have bitten off more than I can chew. Each quilt piece will be nine different colors I will alternate the colors as I go. I have to admit that when I shopped for paint I took Barb along with me she has the eye for colors and seeing it is going to be her santa I trust her judgment. Being a quilter she should know.
No idea how long it will take me but I promise I will post the finished carving before Christmas 2007
