| | Re: 2007 Christmas Ornament swap Thanks for the info guys and your pictures, Dave showed what I was looking for. I've done the woodburning quilt (another forum site) for a few years and always got all of them done on time.....although there were some folks who never sent theirs out. So I am aware of that problem and haven't participated again.
I think I'll wait and see how many folks sign up here, before I decide. If there are a lot, then I think I'll have to pass this year. I've done some relief carving and it really goes slow for me. Lack of practice...............
Thanks again to the info..... |

| | Re: 2007 Christmas Ornament swap I remember the forum and the quilt business Bill...I also remember we were to do some for a certain person and the person that started it ran off with the burnings! |

| | Re: 2007 Christmas Ornament swap Yep Dave and I forgot about the one who "ran off." I try to forget the bad things There are always a few, no matter what, no matter when, and no matter how.
As far as the carvings, I'm giving it serious thought and have an order for basswood ready to go. Need to try a few things before there is a "comfort" zone. Does sound like fun and wish I knew about it earlier, since the early spring is my slow time........ |

| | Re: 2007 Christmas Ornament swap Well there are many, many ornament samples both on here and on the net Bill, take a look around and see if something strikes you fancy.....some like me do 17 or whatever number all different...others a few have done all the same thing and it really doesn't matter.....so do whats comfortable, if its a real chore, its not fun anymore! |

| | Re: 2007 Christmas Ornament swap I suppose you can start now, anything to be able to finish up hopefully at least a week before Christmas......I sent mine all at about the same time early last year, will probably do the same this year.. Just looked, sent all mine about the middle of September.. I carve them all year, when I don't feel like a bigger project, I do an ornament, when I just go out to the shop for a little while, I carve an ornament....I use them as fill ins and usually have quite a few on hand...........makes it good for swaps lol |

| | Re: 2007 Christmas Ornament swap Not sure if people are waiting, scared off or not interested? I have 7 signed up for the ornament swap...is that it? If it is, I already have twice that many done....will be an easy year for me! I will probably mail mine off about the middle of Sept..unless we get a rash of sign ups....I know thats early, but what the hey....I have them done. Doesn't mean you have to rush tho. |

| | Re: 2007 Christmas Ornament swap I think I'm going to hold off until next year and do some throughout the year, Dave. I have ordered the basswood. However the fall is my busy time for orders and such....bad timing. It will give me some things to begin carving on, good incentive! |
