Default 2 more Gargac inspired Santa Ornaments

....After the first one I carved from the DVD I decided to try another with the wind blown beard, inspiration also came from Mark, specifically a 12" wood spirit in his user gallery. I tried squinty eyes, but they ended up to small and the nose to big, but not bad. My third one is my favorite so far.

I’ve really enjoyed these little 7”x 3” guys, they’re a quick carve and great for experimenting. I say a quick carve but I still have around 8-10 hours into number three (pic2)

Hi Tony, They are both good carvings, but I like the 2nd one better. The eyes are very good and the flow of the Beard is Great. Nice work. Merle

First one is nice but the second with open eyes is my favorite. Great job on both.

WOWEE Tony! Very good. How you folks get such a "soft" result from the carving still eludes me. Both are fine, but the second one is my favorite too.

Its good to see some carvings from you Toney. I have either missed your postings or you've been taking a break. Your not known to paint your carvings but you've done a great job on these two. Great detailing. I picked up Mark's woodspirit CD - a great resource. I expect you'll be doing a few more of those carvings. Nicely done.

Great job on these Tony!! I do have to say I like the expression on the second better, but I wouldn't kick if the first one showed up on my Xmas tree!! Keep up the great work.
