Carved this little fellow from a knee that had a good knot on it but it was facing the wrong way. In other words, if I had done it as is, or was, he would have been looking right into the tree. Thought about it a while and cut off the part for the head and down behind the beard, re-attached it looking away from what would become the tree and came out with a rather nice little Santa that looks a little unusual or different. Wish I had thought to take a pic of the knee before I operated on it. Mary just finished painting it with oils and I thought it would demonstrate what we can do when we set our minds to it.
