Best Carving Design Contest 2011

Contest Rules:

• Projects must be your original design and cannot be altered versions of existing patterns by another designer.

• Projects can be hand or power carved and can be finished naturally or with paint.

• Projects must be able to be made from commonly available wood.

• Include the name of anyone who contributed to the carving, including instructors or spouses.

• Projects cannot have been previously entered in a WCI-sponsored contest.

To Enter:

Submit the following information:

• Category of entry: Relief, Realistic, Caricature, Santa, Chip Carving, Stylized, or Junior Carver (16 years and under)

• Clear photographs of your work from multiple views. DO NOT send your carving. You can e-mail photos, send a disk, or send traditional prints. DO NOT send photos printed from your home computer. 

• Information on the project size and types of wood used

• Information on special construction or finishing methods, including add-ons

• Your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address

 

Category winners receive: (two winners in each category - one voted on by the public, and one selected by the editors)

• $50 Fox Books Gift Certificate

• Woodcarving Illustrated T-shirt

• Commermorative Contest Pin

 

 

Best in Contest Winners receive: (two best in contest winners - one voted on by the public, and one selected by the editors)

• Category prize package PLUS

• $50 Cash

• Autographed Fox Chapel Book

Hi Don, We just stopped taking entries June 30th, and with the Fourth of July holiday down here in the states, it'll take us a few days to get organized. We'll have the entries uploaded to our website for voting soon. Best Regards, Bob Duncan Technical Editor

Hi Don, I am new here and my heart just melted when I saw this post. I love to hear about people appreciating others works of art. I am looking forward to the online voting because I would like to be one of the few excited people to wait in queue.
