2007 Santa Carving Contest - People's Choice Award

Dale Woodard’s Santa, highlighted by a natural pose and realistic details, took home top honors in Woodcarving Illustrated’s first online People’s Choice Award. Over 6,000 votes were cast over a two-week period.

Dale’s wife created a watercolor painting based on an antique postcard. Her painting is the inspiration for Victorian Delivery. The Santa, which is 18" tall, is carved from a single piece of wood with no add-ons, and painted with watercolors.

Dale lives in Tacoma, WA, and is currently working on a large religious sculptural project.

The People's Choice Prize Package is valued at $600.
